Have y’all seen the new Kraft commercial with that super hottie? The one where he is cooking something like pizza with salad dressing all the while talking in a husky voice and somehow removing his shirt? I would love to have been in that creative meeting with Kraft.
“I’ve got a great pitch!” says the young girl in a cher from clueless type accent
“Yes” says the boss
“What if we, like, have a guy and he like cooks something with the dressing, and then he like takes his shirt off?”
“What? No!” says the irritated boss
“Well, he could be like “let’s get zesty”” says girl
“Yes! Now you’ve got something there?”
Sometimes when I watch commercials I wonder how in the heck the ideas pass that pitch meeting and become an actual concept.
That, and my brain just isn’t working right because I am worn out.
Whenever I get home after a crazy long day, I like to whip up something quick and easy for dinner and make way for some quality time with my DVR.
With a little prep in my step…
I’ll go ahead and stop with all of the shenanigans and just give y’all this tasty recipe.
Ingredients: serves 2
1-2 Italian sausage links, removed from casing
2-3 cups broccoli
1 1/2 cup of your favorite pasta sauce
2 Tablespoons ricotta cheese
2 Tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese
Fresh cracked black pepper
2 Tablespoons grapeseed oil
Recipe:
Start by removing the italian sausage from casing and brown in a sauté pan over medium heat in a touch of grapeseed oil.
Meanwhile, blanch your broccoli in some boiling water for about 2 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a small baking dish layer the broccoli along the bottom, then top with the ground italian sausage followed by the pasta sauce. Finish by topping with ricotta and parmesan cheese.
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
This looks delicious. And don’t worry, you’re not the only one who wonders about and plays out little scenes in their head. 🙂
Whew! Good to know.
Delicious!!!
Ooh this sounds so good!
Give it a try girl!
