Last night I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Jasper’s in the domain. My aunt and uncle are in town for my cousin Frank’s special olympics volleyball game- so while Frank was off with his volleyball buddies my Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Brad, cousins Chase and Merrill and I met up at Jasper’s.
Jasper’s is the second restaurant concept of Executive Chef Kent Rathbun, an Iron Chef America winner and four-time James Beard Award nominee. Chef Kent has many restaurant concepts all over Texas, but he has also thrived on the national scene.
An advantage of eating dinner with my Uncle Brad is that he knows his wine!
Aunt Stephanie and I split the chopped wedge salad, with maytag blue cheese and an onion ring surprise.
The menu is filled with classic American cuisine and everything looked and sounded so delicious. I went with the barbeque spiced sea scallops with pepperjack blue grits and amber butter sauce. I ate every last bit- it was incredible!
We also passed around a butterfinger creme brulee and desert french toast, but at this point I was stuffed and my food coma was kicking in so I forgot to snap a photo.
Jasper’s was such a treat, the service was amazing and the food was even better! If you ever get a chance to eat at one of Chef Kent Rathbun’s restaurants I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Have a great Saturday! I’m off to go watch some special olympics volleyball- GO HOTSHOTS!
